The use of amodiaquine for prophylaxis results in an unacceptably high risk ofagranulocytosis and liver toxicity and is contraindicated.

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients with porphyrias (blood disorder), and impaired renal (kidney) or hepatic (liver) function
