This medication is used to treat pain caused by nerve damage due to diabetes or shingles (herpes zoster) infection, Pregabalin is used to treat pain caused by fibromyalgia, or nerve pain in people with diabetes (diabetic neuropathy), herpes zoster (post-herpetic neuralgia), or spinal cord injury.

It can cause Drowsiness, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, nausea, constipation, and weight gain may occur. If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug.

Before taking pregabalin, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Peripheral edema may occur; higher frequencies of weight gain and peripheral edema were observed in patients taking both pregabalin and a thiazolidinedione antidiabetic agent compared to patients taking either drug alone; monitor these patients for possible exacerbation of congestive heart failure symptoms when using pregabalin

Weight gain may occur; long-term cardiovascular effects of pregabalin-associated weight gain are unknown

This drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Some medications are known to interact with pregabalin. Includes lisinopril, tramadol, trazodone.
